Former basketball player Caleb Swanigan has died at the age of just 25.
Caleb Swanigan has died. The former basketball player and NBA pro died Monday at the age of just 25, according to several U.S. media outlets.
The 6-foot-9 player had ended his professional career after the 2019-20 season. Struggling with weight issues, he was given the nickname “Biggie” (in German: “Dicker”, “Big”), which he adopted himself. After his basketball career, he tried his hand at rapping. In 2021 he also became known with a drug charge.
Cause of death Natural death: Swanigan died at the age of only 25 years.
The exact reasons behind his death are still unclear. However, he died of natural causes, as “Wane 15” reports with reference to the Allen County coroner’s office.
The “Purdue Boilermakers” basketball team, a college team for which Swanigan played, shared the death notice on Twitter. Adding, ” Devastated. Our thoughts and prayers are with Caleb Swanigan’s family and friends. The world lost a gentle soul last night. Love you Biggie.”
