The 2018 Miss Brazil had fallen into a coma after tonsil surgery. Now she has died at the age of 27.
Former Miss Brazil Gleycy Correia has died at the age of just 27 after a routine tonsil surgery went wrong. Five days after her surgery this April, the model reportedly slipped into a coma due to bleeding.
Two months later, the family’s pastor now revealed to The Sun that her relatives believe there was a mistake during the surgery. Her body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Macae, Rio de Janeiro state, for an autopsy.
Ex-Miss Brazil’s father: ‘She will now light up the sky with her smile’
Gleycy’s father also spoke out, saying, “She had surgery to remove her tonsils and after five days at home she had a hemorrhage. She went to Unimed and had a cardiac arrest on April 4, and she’s been in a coma with no neurological activity ever since. She passed away.”
He added, “God chose this day to pick up our princess. We know she will be greatly missed, but she will now light up the sky with her smile.”
